Press Release: Over 400 attend Wolf Day at the MN Capitol organized by Howling for Wolves to push for full implementation of Minnesota’s Wolf Management Plan. The all-day event included individual legislator meetings and a large rally.

Legislative Hearing On Wolf Management: For our part, wolf advocates did a great job and gave valid and essential testimony that garnered close attention from the committee members. Our leader, Maureen Hackett, MD emphasized the need to address human attitudes in order to have effective wolf management. Dr. Hackett also spoke of the indiscriminate methods used to kill wolves.

Wolf hunting and trapping season in Minnesota and Wisconsin both end with wolf kills that exceed legal quotas; Howling For Wolves calls for better accountability with wolf population numbers the lowest since 1988.

Founder, Dr. Hackett spoke at the last public hearing on the proposal to remove all lower 48 gray wolves from the Endangered Species list ( except the Mexican wolf).

Fair Fight with John Williams hosted a 12 minute debate about the wolf hunt. Maureen Hackett presented ecological and ethical reasons why wolves need protection from hunting and trapping.
