Legislative Meetings with Howling For Wolves

When: Wednesday April 10, 11 am to 4 pm

Where: Cass Gilbert Library, MN State Capitol Building, St Paul, MN

Howling For Wolves is organizing appointments with lawmakers on Wednesday, April 10 at the Capitol in St. Paul. Lawmakers need our push to remove wolf hunting from state law in Minnesota.

Schedule: Wednesday, April 10
11:00 to 11:30 AM: Check-in and material pick-up
11:30 to 12 Noon: PROGRAM: Welcome and Legislative Briefing
12:15 to 4 PM: Legislative meetings will be scheduled for you
12:15 to 2 PM: Lunch on your own in the Rathskeller Cafe at the Capitol

Meeting location: We will be in the "Cass Gilbert Library" on the 3rd floor of the Capitol building.

We will provide all handouts, and make your appointments to meet with legislators to discuss wolf trophy hunting, non-lethal methods funding, and other priorities. We will also be in touch on parking and other final details. (There will not be a rally or bus transportation.) Thank you!

St. Cloud Wolf Pack and Public Comment Gathering

Howling For Wolves is looking across Minnesota for people willing to join together to stand up for the wolf! As a part of this effort, we are working to establish supporter and volunteer groups called 'Wolf Packs' around the state.

The focus of this meeting is to dually host it as an event to gather public comment in opposition to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's plan to remove federal protection from wolves. We will be collecting electronic signatures, as well as hand written post cards for state legislators.

This meeting will be held at St. Cloud’s Great River Regional Library, Array Room, 1300 West St. Germain Street.

These meetings are for wolf advocates to get involved at the local and state level to communicate with lawmakers about the wolf in Minnesota. Members will be able to walk away from each meeting equipped with new knowledge, skills, and opportunities to help protect the wolf for future generations and serve as a knowledgeable resource to your neighbors and lawmakers.

Wild for Wolves at Bent Paddle Brewing

Join Howling for Wolves for the National ‘Wild for Wolves’ Day of Action at Bent Paddle Brewing in Duluth, MN on March 5th from 7 to 9 pm.

Howling for Wolves and local pack-tivist will be hosting an activist evening at Bent Paddle Brewing, during which we will be showcasing wolf themed art from local artist, discussing the federal attempts to removed Endangered Species Act protections from the gray wolf in the United States, the need to protect wolves for future generations, and how you can help. We will have a brief presentation, followed by a social hour and public comment signing party in opposition to upcoming proposals from US Fish and Wildlife to remove federal protections.

1832 W Michigan St floor 1, Duluth, MN 55806

From downtown Duluth take Superior Street southwest toward West Duluth. Stay left to continue onto West Michigan Street. Stay left again onto Lower West Michigan Street. Turn right on 19th Avenue West and a quick left into the large shared parking lot adjacent to Hanks Specialties. Walk left onto West Michigan Street to reach our front entrance.

When traveling North to Duluth on Interstate 35 take exit 255A on the left and merge onto U.S. 53 N toward 21st Ave W. Take the first exit toward West Superior St. / 21st Ave W. Stay in the middle lane to merge onto N 20th Ave W. Travel straight 3 blocks on N 20th Ave W then turn left onto W Michigan St. Travel past the main Bent Paddle Brewing Co. entry and take a right into the large shared parking lot adjacent to Hanks Specialties.

Travel straight 3 blocks on N 20th Ave W then turn left onto W Michigan St. Travel past the main Bent Paddle Brewing Co. entry and take a right into the large shared parking lot adjacent to Hanks Specialties.

Free Parking

There is a large gravel parking lot located in between 18th and 19th Ave W on W Michigan St. where patrons are encouraged to park. We also share a parking lot on the corner of 19th Avenue West and Michigan Street with our friendly building neighbor Hanks Specialties. There is also free street parking all around the brewery.

Wild for Wolves Meet and Greet/ Wolf Pack Meeting

Please join Howling For Wolves this coming Tuesday, March 5 between 7 and 9 PM at Lake Monster Brewing for our first Twin Cities "Wolf Pack" event.

This open house will feature up-to-date information on the wolf, petitions/letters to urge President Trump to keep wolves on the Endangered Species List, and an opportunity to become more involved and connect with other local wolf supporters. Stop by whenever - and stay as long as you'd like.

Wild for Wolves Meet and Greet at Brewed Awakenings

When: Monday, March 4, 230 to 530 pm

Where: Brewed Awakenings, Grand Rapids, MN

On March 4th from 230 to 530 pm, visit Brewed Awakenings in Grand Rapids to meet with local pack-tivist to learn about the status of the wolf and how you can take action to protect the wolf as the USFWS readies to propose the removal of federal protections under the Endangered Species Act of this great species.

Howling For Wolves is working alongside the Endangered Species Coalition and the Center for Biological Diversity in a national effort to proactively protect the gray wolf and gather public comment in opposition of delisting.
