Public Comment Signing and Art Show from the Wolf Flow Artists at the Red Herring, Duluth, MN

When: Saturday, May 11, 4 to 6 pm

Where: The Red Herring,  208 East 1st Street, Duluth, MN 55802

With the national public comment period on the USFWS wolf delisting proposal ending on May 14th, we are hosting another event in Duluth, MN to gather public comments and showcase wolf themed art from local Wolf Flow Artists.

Here is a statement from the artists

Wild Icon or Mere Statistic?

We wouldn't be true wolf advocates if we didn't acknowledge the conflict issues between humans and wolves.  We commit ourselves to being part of the solution.

We recognize it has been established that the recreational hunting and trapping of wolves does not solve the depredation dilemma.  We do know for certain that there is so much more to learn

and understand about this intelligent Apex species, the vital role it plays in our ecosystem; notably, in current times of climate crisis.

The most fascinating way of the wolf is that ironically, when the wolf is free from our imposing grip and blunt interference it naturally manages its own population while steadying and increasing the population of its prey.  If wolves begin to recover in any region, it is good overall for the health of our natural lands and other wild species of concern.

This is not the time to De-list the wolf from the ESL.  We ask you to learn more, ask questions to better understand the scope of this issue.

"If only we could match tolerance to the magnificence of this wild icon, our nation would be in a better place."- WFA

Wolf Delisting Hearing, Hosted by Sen Ron Johnson| Wisconsin

When: Friday May 3, 10 am to 1 pm

Where: Hudson House Grand Hotel, 1616 Crest View Drive, Hudson, WI

Last month the Department of Interior proposed to remove Endangered Species Act protections for all wolves in the United States. Delisting puts their fate in the hands of many states who could implement hunting and trapping seasons immediately. Clearly this will be a death sentence for many wolves. Howling For Wolves stands for continued federal protections to ensure the wolf’s long-term survival.

UPCOMING EVENT: Wisconsin U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (Republican) is holding an open, public meeting to hear comments from Wisconsin residents on the proposed delisting. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services staff will be there, along with many local decision-makers. The event is from 10 AM to 1 PM, Friday, May 3, at Hudson House Grand Hotel, 1616 Crest View Drive, Hudson, WI.  There will be a short presentation, and then the audience will have an opportunity to make statements. This is not a question/answer forum.

The wolf needs you to send a message to Governor Johnson and our political leaders at this event. Please attend if you can and make a short comment against the delisting.

If you can’t make this forum, please consider making a comment by May 14 on the delisting through the Howling For Wolves TAKE ACTION website today to oppose this delisting. We have prepared a customizable comment – and encourage you to add your own personal statement as well. The system will automatically submit your comment for you.

Thank you for your actions. Together we can protect the wolf!

Howl For The Wolves at Half Brothers Brewing Company

When: Saturday April 27, 1 to 3 pm

Where: Half Brothers Brewing Company, Grand Forks, ND

Please join us at Half Brothers Brewery for some painless wolf advocacy and socializing on April 27th from 1-3!

Grab a drink & some appetizers and sign a petition, make a call, or just listen to discussion and learn about the importance of predator protection.

The vast majority of Americans want wolf protections to remain and for wolves to be treated humanely but despite this fact, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed a rule to remove wolves from Federal protection of the Endangered Species Act.

So why is our advocacy important?

Because without our support, hunters and trappers will be allowed to kill wolves based on bad science, political corruption, and fear mongering while ignoring scientific evidence showing the importance of stable wolf populations.

Children are welcome to join! Please share this event and bring a friend and help us build our pack!

Half Brothers Brewing is located at 17 North Third St in the heart of downtown Grand Forks, ND.
