HFW Legislative Meetings at the Capitol in St. Paul
Minnesota’s state legislature is now in session! Howling For Wolves needs you as we work with state lawmakers to stop wolf trophy hunting and to support funding for nonlethal conflict prevention methods. Nonlethal prevention methods are effective at reducing conflicts and can assist farmers and ranchers.
Our priority is to connect Minnesota’s House and Senate lawmakers with their constituents who are wolf supporters. Please join us at *virtually* on Friday, April 16, 2021 for a legislative briefing and rally at 11 AM, followed by virtual legislative appointments (which we will schedule on your behalf).
Together we can protect the wolf! Click this link for more details and to let us know you're coming April 16. If another day would work better for you, please let us know in the link as well. There is no cost to attend.
We have momentum and as a constituent, you are vital to persuade lawmakers to protect the wolf.
Background information:
In early 2021, the wolf in all states lost federal Endangered Species Act protections, and now more wolf killing can be done legally. The Minnesota DNR is leading a Wolf Advisory Committee to create a new wolf management plan, which will be released for public comment this spring. Although Governor Walz has publicly stated he does not support a wolf trophy hunt, we remain vigilant as Wisconsin and other states are moving quickly to implement wolf trophy hunting and trapping seasons. Wolf hunting must not happen in Minnesota.
Sign up today and speak for the wolf! While wolves can howl, our lawmakers only understand human howling!
