Howling For Wolves Expands Bonus Payment Program
Lamb and Wool Producers Now Eligible for Payments

(Hopkins, Minnesota) --  Howling For Wolves (HFW), a Minnesota-based non-profit wolf advocacy
organization, has expanded the “Wolf Forgiveness Bonus Program” to include lamb and wool producers.

The “Wolf Forgiveness Bonus Program,” launched earlier this year, is an opportunity for Howling For Wolves and livestock producers to find common ground. Minnesota livestock producers who suffer a suspected predator loss, within Minnesota’s current wolf range, and choose not to engage a trapper will be eligible for a direct payment.

Eligible lamb and wool producers will receive payments of $200 for four months or younger, $300 for four months or older, and $500 for a registered ram or ewe. Payment levels for cattle producers remain at $600 per calf and $750 per adult. Predator losses within wolf range, as well as atypical cases outside the defined wolf range, will be considered.

Eligible producers should contact Howling For Wolves directly to initiate the process for payment. Basic information such as the age of the lost livestock, a photo, and the last time the animal was seen is required. All inquiries and information gathered are confidential.

“We understand the challenges livestock producers face when running their operation and we want to work with them to find common ground,” said Maureen Hackett, Howling For Wolves President and Founder. “Expanding this ground-breaking program to lamb and wool producers is a logical next step in building relationships.”

Eligible producers interested in the program should contact Howling For Wolves at (612) 424-3613 or via e-mail at bonusprogram@howlingforwolves.org.
