Where:  Loring Park, 1382 Willow Street, Minneapolis, MN

The annual Twin Cities Pride Festival  takes place this weekend, June 25/26.  Howling For Wolves has booth R096, which is located in the Red Zone right near the NSGRA Dance Tent.

Please stop by and say hello.  If it looks like they need help, you're welcome to stay.

We have heard that storms are predicted for Saturday afternoon, so if you are around and a big wind gust comes up, feel free to jump in and help gather our belongings.

The Festival leaders have put out a security statement which in part reads as follows:  "In case of emergency or ANY security issue at the Festival, please CALL or TEXT 612-255-3265... Please remind yourself and others:  If you see something, say something."

Adopt a Highway Cleanup

When:  Saturday, June 11, 2016 - 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where:  Highway 35 just south of Pine City, MN

This Saturday, June 11, will be our Adopt A Highway trash pick-up.  Our section is along interstate 35 North, just south of Pine City, mile markers 166-168.  The clean-up is from noon until 2:00 p.m.

You must watch the short training video (link to MNDOT website http://www.dot.state.mn.us/adopt/resources.html).  You will be provided a safety vest.  Please bring a set of gloves you are willing to trash.  We will have some extra gloves too.

The plan is to meet at the Rock Creek Motor Stop on the west side of 35 at mile marker 165.  When you enter the parking lot, go off to the right where you will see two sheds.  These belong to the Pine County Recycling Center, and you'll meet near those sheds.

If you are interested in helping, please email volunteer@howlingforwolves.org.

Thank you all once again for agreeing to help with this event.  We understand it will be very, very warm, so please bring plenty of water.

Please bring your questions and concerns on any state-related matters.

We encourage you to attend your state lawmakers’ town hall meetings to let them know that you want them to vote for bills that protect wolves. Bills SF 592 and HF 1317 ban wolf trapping and baiting and prohibit wild animal snaring. Snaring often injures and kills dogs, wolves and lots of other birds and wildlife, especially pheasants. We are also working to repeal the wolf hunting and trapping season.
